Location

The electric suction fan is located in the engine compartment behind the radiator.

Task

The electric suction fan serves to cool the coolant and refrigerant. The AAC [KLA] control unit sends the request to switch on the electrical suction fan via the interior CAN to the central gateway control unit (N93).

This forwards the request via the chassis CAN to the CDI control unit (N3/9) (with diesel engine) or to the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) (with gasoline engine). The CDI control unit or the ME-SFI [ME] control unit actuates the electric suction fan.
