After a cold start the fuel-air mixture is enriched for a short time. The fuel which precipitates on the cylinder walls and the intake manifold is compensated for by this enrichment and the engine runs smoothly. Torque converter protection of automatic transmission (e.g. 1400 RPM with no gear engaged (automatic transmission) at +30°C coolant temperature for about 30 s).

The post-start enrichment is dependent on:

• Coolant temperature at start
• Combustion cycles after start
• Correction programming with STAR DIAGNOSIS
