The transmission shift delay warms up the catalytic converter more rapidly to its operating temperature after engine start.

The transmission shift delay is fully electronic. No additional components are required.

The engine control unit requests from the transmission control unit via the CAN data bus to alter the shift characteristic curves. The speed signal is provided via the CAN data bus.

The partial load shifts from 1st and 2nd gear into 3rd gear take place at higher engine speeds. Starting takes place in 1st gear only when drive program C is selected.

The transmission shift delay is active for max. 60 s under the following conditions:

ME-SFI [ME] control unit, component description GF07.61-P-6000V
Coolant temperature sensor, component description GF07.04-P-6040V
