Perform operation step 1 to  3 on vehicles with code (409) Left/right front multicontour seats or with code (432) Left and right dynamic multicontour seat.

1. Remove insulating material (15).
2. Unscrew nuts (17) of overpressure reservoir (16).
3. Detach overpressure reservoir (16) and place to one side with electrical and pneumatic lines still connected

4. Connect black 4-pin coupling (14) of wiring harness for reversing camera (1) to black 4-pin connector (19) of reversing camera line (20)

   The reversing camera connector (B84/3x1) is now complete.

5. Clip reversing camera connector (B84/3x1), as shown, onto trunk lid (6) and fasten in place using a cable tie.
6. Route wiring harness for reversing camera (1), starting at the reversing camera connector (B84/3x1) along the vehicle wiring harness to the left hinge lever (21) and then fasten to vehicle wiring harness using cable ties.

7. Rote wiring harness for reversing camera (1) along left hinge lever (21) into trunk.
8. Connect black 4-pin coupling (12) and white 6-pin coupling (13) of reversing camera wiring harness (1) to power supply module for reversing camera (N66/10).
9. Route wiring harness for reversing camera (1), as shown, along existing wiring harnesses in trunk and fasten in place.

   The length compensation mark (L) must line up with the length compensation mark of the vehicle wiring harness.

10. Make a loop in the excess length of the branch-off line to the reversing camera in the marked area (arrow A) and fasten in place using a cable tie.
11. Connect brown line (br) of reversing camera wiring harness (1) to ground (left wheel well in luggage compartment) (W6) and secure to vehicle's wiring harness.
12. Clip covering (2), starting at right side onto trunk lid (6).

    Make sure that all clips (10) are engaged fully.

13. Remove protective foil from lens of reversing camera (B84/3).
14. Tighten screws (9) on inside of trunk lid external operation switch (S88/8).

15. Install trunk lid cover (8) onto trunk lid (6).
16. Install left and right hinge bracket trim piece (7).
17. Install panel (3).
18. Install holder (5) and insert hazard warning triangle (4).

19. Route gray/black line (gr/sw) of wiring harness for reversing camera (1), as shown, to left rear lamp unit (E3) and fasten to body using felt tape.
20. Detach black 6-pin coupling (22) from left taillamp (E3).
21. Shorten gray/black line (gr/sw) of wiring harness for reversing camera (1) and connect using a potential distributor (23) to the gray/black line of the black 6-pin coupling (22) of the left taillamp (E3).

    The potential distributor (23) can be obtained from the wiring harness repair kit.

22. Connect black 6-pin coupling (22) to left taillamp (E3).
23. Route red line (rt) of wiring harness for reversing camera (1) along existing wiring harnesses to rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and fasten in place.
24. Plug the black fuse carrier (11) onto the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) into slot 141 and populate with a 5 A fuse.

    Slot 141 on the SAM control unit with rear fuse and relay module (N10/2) is colored and mechanically coded.

25. Route remaining branch-off lines of reversing camera wiring harness (1) from luggage compartment to vehicle interior through body opening on left C-pillar.

    Operation steps 26 and  27 only on vehicles with code (409) Left/right front multicontour seats or with code (432) Left and right dynamic multicontour seat.

26. Position overpressure reservoir (16) and screw tight using nuts (17).
27. Insert insulating material (15).

28. Remove air vent (32) under driver seat.
29. Unclip and remove line guide (33).

30. Remove expansion clips (26) and fold rear floor covering (27) over toward vehicle center.
31. Remove impact absorber (25)
32. Fold insulation mat (24), as shown, towards vehicle center.
33. Route wiring harness for reversing camera (1) along vehicle wiring harness into footwell.

    Route wiring harness for reversing camera (1) through opening in body (arrow B).

34. Fold back insulation mat (24) and align.
35. Install impact absorber (25)
36. Fold front floor covering (31) over until air distribution flap (28) is accessible.
37. Unhook the air distribution flap (28) located under the rear floor covering (27) from the air ducts and place to one side.
38. Open cable ducts (29, 30).
39. Route wiring harness for reversing camera (1), as shown, into cable ducts (29, 30).

    Pull wiring harness for reversing camera (1) through opening in marked area (arrow C) and out of the cable duct (30).

40. Remove insulation mat (34)
41. Route wiring harness for reversing camera (1) outside the cable duct (30) and into the mounting slot for the COMAND controller unit.
42. Fasten wiring harness for reversing camera (1), as shown, using felt tape (35) onto cable duct (30).
43. Install insulation mat (34)
44. Remove black 20-pin contact carrier (37) from vehicle's black 40-pin coupling housing (36) of COMAND controller unit.

    Use the black 20-pin contact carrier (37) with contact cavity assignment 21 to 40.

45. Install transparent line (tr) of reversing camera wiring harness (1) in contact cavity 21 of black 20-pin contact carrier (37).
46. Install screened line (sc) of reversing camera wiring harness (1) in contact cavity 32 of black 20-pin contact carrier (37).

    The screened line (sc) has a larger diameter than the transparent line (tr).

47. Install the black 20-pin contact carrier (37) into the black 40- pin coupling housing (36).

48. Close cable ducts (29, 30).
49. Insert air distribution flap (28) into air ducts and align.
50. Align rear floor covering (27) and install expansion clips (26).
51. Align front floor covering (31).

52. Align line guide (33) and clip into place.
53. Install air vent (32) under driver seat.
