DISTRONIC PLUS including BAS PLUS and Park Assist radar sensor system - GF30.30-P-0004-04LE
Detection range of the radar sensors for DISTRONIC PLUS, BAS PLUS and PRE-SAFE brake (schematic) (as of YoM 09 model refinement package)
Detection range of the radar sensors (schematic) (up to YoM 09 model refinement package except Blind Spot Assist)
Short range sensors
Short range sensors cover a wide area in front of the vehicle. They are particularly suitable therefore for low vehicle speeds in DISTRONIC PLUS mode.
The short range sensors function according to the short pulse procedure and detect objects (e. g. vehicles) within a short range up to 30 m and within a detection angle up to 140°.
A precise angle can be determined within a detection angle of 80° while just the existence of objects can be detected at angles up to 140°.
The short range sensors have a detection range of 0.2 to 30 m at a resolution of 0.04 m.
Long range sensor
The long range sensor operates according to the pulse Doppler principle and is capable of measuring the distance and speed of individual objects (e. g. vehicles) independently of one another.
Up to YoM 09/model refinement package
With its narrow detection angle of 18° (sharp beam bundling) the long range sensor covers only a narrow zone in front of the vehicle, and is therefore used for detection at longer ranges 30 to 150 m. The whole detection range of the long range sensor is 10 to 150 m.
As of YoM 09/model refinement package
With its narrow detection angle of 18° (sharp beam bundling) the long range sensor covers only a narrow zone in front of the vehicle, and is therefore used for detection at longer ranges 60 to 200 m.
In the medium distance range of 0 to 60 m the detection angle is 60° and therefore covers a width area in front of the vehicle.
The whole detection range of the long range sensor is 0 to 200 m.
