Retrofit wiring harnesses for air conditioning - AN54.18-P-0001-01P

NOTES The air conditioning wiring harness is supplied with the branch-off lines for convenience automatic air conditioning. These branch-off lines are not routed to the corresponding components. They are routed in the passenger compartment and must be insulated.

  1. Remove gasket (4).
  2. Remove absorber (5).
  3. Remove door sill molding (11).
  4. Remove edge guard (12) in area of A-pillar paneling.
  5. Unscrew bolt (13).

    IMPORTANT Unclip cap on cover of A-pillar (14).

  6. Unclip A-pillar cover (14) and remove.
  7. Open cable duct on kick panel.
  8. Pull branch-off lines with couplings (2, 3) through the cable duct under the absorber in the passenger compartment.
  9. Route couplings (2, 3) in the cable duct.

    NOTES Insulate couplings. Route wires without kinks so they cannot chafe and tie with tie straps.

  10. Insert coupling (1).

    IMPORTANT Slot M15.

  11. Install gasket (4) on wiring harness in front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1).

  12. Open cable duct (8).

    IMPORTANT Cable duct under battery console.

  13. Open cable duct (9).
  14. Route wiring harness with branch-off lines for right major assemblies compartment electronic ground (W16/6) and coupling on coolant circulation pump (M13) under the master brake cylinder and air conditioning pressure lines at the firewall to the cable duct (8).
  15. Route branch-off lines through the cable duct (9).
  16. Screw on right major assemblies compartment electronic ground (W16/6).
  17. Connect coupling (10) to coolant circulation pump (M13).
  18. Tie branch-off lines to existing wiring harness.

  19. Bolt on front left ground (for light unit) (W9).
  20. Vehicle with headlamp cleaning system (Code 600a) 

    1. Connect coupling (16) to HCS pump (M5/2).
    2. Vehicle without headlamp cleaning system (Code 600a) 

    3. Insulate coupling (16) and tie to existing wiring harness in the area of the washing water reservoir.
  21. Connect coupling (17) to refrigerant pressure and temperature sensor (B12/2).
  22. Tie branch-off lines to existing wiring harness.
  23. Assemble in reverse order.
