The electric trunk lid emergency release does not operate when:

If battery is removed/disconnected (e.g.: vehicle taken out of service temporarily) it is necessary to take off the striker eye. | ||
| The function "Lock trunk lid separately" (90° position of trunk lid lock) is no longer present after the trunk lid emergency release is installed. | |||
| Check trunk lid remote opening feature for proper operation | |||
| On vehicles as of end no. F059 804 it is only necessary to install the trunk interior pushbutton and deactivate the 90° position trunk lid lock | |||

| 1 | Disconnect ground cable of battery | ||

| 3 | Remove trunk lid contact switch (S88/6) at trunk lid lock and tie back connector with electric cable | ||
| 4 | Remove paneling of trunk floor and side paneling on left in trunk | ||

| 5 | Check rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module | ET no. A 203 545 07 01 or ET no. A 002 545 97 01 (SW26/00, Q11 status) is not fitted ↓ |
