Pilling (fiber burls) on seat covers - AF91.18-P-2001A
MODEL 202, 203, 208, 209, 210, 211 Fabric seat covers

| Fibers detach from the clothing of passengers (external-source pilling) and/or from the fabric of the seat cover (inherent pilling) and form small fiber burls on the surface as a result of sliding motion. | 1 The pills (fiber burls) can be removed easily using a depiller. Pilling then no longer occurs or is reduced. There is no risk of additional fabric damage (wearing through). Pilled seat covers do not, therefore, need to be changed. We recommend (e.g. during service work) that you check for pilling and remove any pills with a depiller before the customer submits a complaint. Code component concerned with appropriate damage code and damage type 96. |
