Gear implausible or leak in transmission, MESFI fault code description - AD07.61-P-4000-27L

Gear implausible or leak in transmission
1 Fault code
(ID is play on generic scan tool)
P2069 (P0700)
2 Fault storage after expiry of test duration and fault
  Actuation of the indicator lamp

  • Engine diagnosis (EURO3/4)
  • No actuation

  • CHECK ENGINE (MIL) USA ONLY
  • Following two successive driving cycles with faults

3 Checking frequency Continuous
4 Checked signal or status Calculated gear ratios outside of tolerance
5 Fault setting conditions
Permissible deviation from respective gear ratio ± 0.20 1st/2nd gear
    ± 0.05 3rd gear
    ± 0.03 4th/5th gear
    ± 0.20 Reverse gear
  Checking duration approx. 2 seconds
6 Check prerequisites
  • Engine speed greater than 400 rpm
  • Output shaft speed greater than 180 rpm (corresponds to around 20 km/h)
  • No shift operation.

7 Check procedure If the shift operation expires, the ETC control unit detects the selected gear from the gear ratio. If the gear ratio lies outside of the tolerance or the gear detection is implausible, after approx. 0.5 s, the modulating pressure is set to its maximum value. If the gear ratio remains outside of the tolerance or the gear detection is implausible, a fault is detected after approx. 1 s.
8 IMPORTANT The gear ratios are calculated from the following variables: speed signal n2, speed signal n3 and output shaft speed (determined via rear wheel speed).
Faults are detected by the ETC control unit and sent via the CAN data bus to the ME-SFI engine control unit. Fault storage and actuation of the CHECK ENGINE (MIL) indicator lamp is carried out by the ME-SFI control unit.
Additionally read out ETC fault memory.
