- Mark separation points and cut with body saw (areas A and B).
- Mark separation point on rear fender with aid of template and cut with body saw (area C).
Do not damage C-pillar, B-pillar and outer side longitudinal member below.
- Expose spot welds and cut out with spot weld cutter (areas D - H).
- Expose spot welds and cut out with spot weld cutter (areas I - K).
- Expose spot welds and cut out with spot weld cutter (areas L - Q).
- Heat rear fender with hot air blower in shaded areas.
Shaded areas are foam filled.
- Remove rear fender.
- Grind connection surfaces down to bare metal in shaded areas. Grind spot welding flanges down to bare metal on both sides
- Remove grinding and drilling chips using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
- Coat insides of spot welding flanges with zinc dust paint.
- Cut rear fender to size in area of upper C-pillar with body saw and crimp inward with crimping pliers (arrows).
