Install rear fender - AR63.50-P-1400-04PA

TEST VALUES FOR GAP DIMENSIONS ON HOODS, DOORS AND LIDS

  1. Apply MB body sealant to foam parts and body (arrows).

  2. Position rear fender with straightening tool, fit and fix in place.
  3. Install rear lamp and rubber seal.
  4. Check gaps and adjust on rear fender/taillamp

    rear fender/side rear door

    rear fender/rear-end door.

    IMPORTANT Use feeler gauge!

  6. Rear fender SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (areas B and L).
  7. Rear fender POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas A, M and S).
  8. Drill Ø 6 mm holes on outer longitudinal member (area C).
  9. Rivet rear fender and outer longitudinal member using steel/steel flat head rivets, Ø 6x14 mm (area C).

  10. Rear fender SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (area J).
  11. Rear fender POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas E, F, K, N, O and R).
  12. Remove straightening tool from rear fender.
  13. Rear fender POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas G, H and I).

  14. Bend over spot weld flanges on wheel well with bending jig.

    IMPORTANT Bend over spot weld flange analog to undamaged side of vehicle.

  15. Rear fender at wheel well POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas D, P and Q).

  17. Grind weld joint down flat and clean using wire brush.
  18. Fill rear fender with body solder in cross-hatched area and smooth.
