- Detach foam rubber roll (4) from old headliner (1)
- Lay new headliner (1) down on suitable clean subsurface.
- Shim new headliner (1) with suitable clean spacers, e.g. foam rubber or Styrofoam pads.
- Route new PTS warning display wiring harness (3) on new headliner (1) and glue to new headliner (1) with approx. 10 cm long strips of adhesive tape (5) at an interval of approx. 10 cm.
Do not cross new PTS warning display wiring harness (3) with main wiring harness (2) and press strips of adhesive tape on sufficiently, otherwise a short circuit can result from chafing on the roof paneling.
The old headliner (1) serves as a guide for routing the wiring harness.
- Fasten foam rubber roll to new headliner (1) with strips of adhesive tape (5), so that the electrical connectors (7) for the new PTS warning display wiring harness (3) and new main wiring harness (2) can be stored in the foam rubber roll when installing the rear dome lamp PTS warning display (A44/3) and the new headliner (1).
Do not use any hard or sharp-edge objects, otherwise the cover of the new headliner (1) can be damaged
The foam rubber and Styrofoam pads prevent the new headliner (1) from sagging when performing the following steps.
