Pressing joint hub off/on rear axle shaft - AR35.30-P-0661-02PF

Pressing joint hub off rear axle shaft, pressing on and caulking Caulker for securing joint hub on rear axle shaft Shell halves (2 ea.) for pressing off and caulking the inner constant velocity joint

    Pressing off joint hub 

  1. Press joint hub (37d) off rear axle shaft (37a) using SPECIAL TOOL drift.
  2. Check joint hub (37d) and rear axle shaft (37a) for damage to the splined profile.

    IMPORTANT If no more than 3 teeth per caulking point on the splined profile of the joint hub (arrow) have broken off up to a length of max. 6 mm, the joint hub (37d) can continue to be used.

  3. Pressing on joint hub 

  4. SPECIAL TOOL Select clamping jaws for rear axle shafts 25 mm, 27 mm or 32 mm.
  5. Press on joint hub (37d) using a suitable tool until dimension "b" is reached.

    b = 4.2 mm

  6. Caulking joint hub 

  7. Clamp rear axle shaft in vise so that the joint hub (37d) rests on the shell halves.
  8. Recaulk (arrows) at points halfway between the existing caulking points.

    NOTES To prevent damage (e.g. rupture) in the ball races, the caulking points must be as close as possible to the splined profile.
