The sliding/pop-up roof is driven by a DC motor with thermal protection switch, the roof system motor (M12m1)

Hall sensor 1 (M12b1) and Hall sensor 2 (M12b2) are located on the motor shaft for position measurement; these values are also used for excessive force limitation and for pinch protection (M12b3).
