The relock function is actuated by the EIS control unit (N73), when the vehicle is unlocked and none of the doors, the trunk lid (only model 203.0), the rear door (only model 203.2) or the tailgate (only model 203.7) are opened within 40 s.

In this case, the vehicle relocks automatically.

Relock is confirmed by optical feedback

The door status (signal of left front door contact switch (S17/3), right front door contact switch (S17/4), left rear door contact switch (S17/5) (only model 203.0/2) and right rear door contact switch (S17/6) (only model 203.0/2)) is transmitted by the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) to the EIS control unit (N73) via controller area network bus, class B (interior compartment) (CAN B).

The anti-theft alarm (ATA) (on vehicles with code (551a) anti-theft alarm (ATA)) is disarmed again
