Electronic ignition/starter switch control unit, task - GF80.57-P-4102-03PQ
Tasks
- Gateway between controller area network bus, class B (passenger compartment) (CAN B) and controller area network bus, class C (engine compartment) (CAN C),
- Shift-lock function in combination with electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5) (on transmission 722)
- Check and control of central locking (CL)
- Encrypted data exchange according to hash method for key identification
- If the transmitter key is not identified (invalid transmitter key (A8/1)) the solenoid in the EIS control unit (N73) prevents the transmitter key (rotation lock) from turning (A8/1)
- Encrypted infrared communication to transmitter key (A8/1) and power transmission to transmitter key (A8/1)
- Transfer of inquiry for transmitter key (A8/1) for drive authorization (DAS) and for enabling electric steering lock (ESL)
- Rotation angle-dependent activation of individual circuits (c. 15, c. 15R, c. 50, c. 15X and c. 15C)
- Locking transmitter key (A8/1) in turned position
- Transmitter key (A8/1) automatically returns from start to drive position
- The equipment versions are coded in the EIS control unit (N73).
- Serial data exchange with electric steering lock (ESL)
Additionally on vehicles as of 28.7.04
Diagnosis gateway
The EIS control unit (N73) transmits the data from the control units connected to the CAN B and to the CAN C to the diagnosis CAN connected to the test unit (STAR-DIAGNOSIS).
Data logger
- On vehicles with code (494) USA version:
The EIS control unit (N73) collects the data required for the emergency call system from the control units connected to CAN B and CAN C.
- On vehicles with code (551) Anti-theft alarm system (ATA):
Triggered ATA alarms (maximum 15) can be read out in the alarm memory of the EIS control unit (N73).
In addition to this, information such as, e.g. position of windows in the event of alarm being triggered is also stored.
