Overhead control panel control unit, purpose - GF82.20-P-4101-02PP

Tasks of the overhead control panel control unit (N70):

Reading in signals from the following integrated switches and sensors:

Reading in sensors:

The following tasks are also taken over

The overhead control panel control unit (N70) is connected with the passenger compartment CAN bus for exchanging data.

Function as of 1.7.02

The obstruction sensor is monitored by Hall sensors.

In the absence of Hall sensor pulses the drive is cut out after 160 ms + 10 ms despite the actuation of the tilting/sliding roof. In addition denormalization takes place in tilting mode. Furthermore, a mechanical thermostatic protection switch on the drive motor takes care of an overload. If the event of failure of Hall sensors the roof can still be closed in stages in 160 ms increments or with the emergency crank.

IMPORTANT As of 1.6.03 the rain sensor (B38) with code (345a) rain sensor and the switch-on lights sensor (B32/1) is replaced by the rain/ light sensor (B38/2) (except code (491) USA version and except code (460) additional parts for Canadian vehicles).

Measurement of interior temperature with code (580a) automatic air conditioning and with code (581b) comfort automatic air conditioning

The in-car temperature sensor fan motor (N70m1) in the overhead control panel control unit (N70) is actuated upon request from the AAC control and operating unit (N22) via the CAN interior. First perform diagnosis on sensor blower.

The overhead control panel control unit (N70) then reports back the status and the measured interior temperature to the AAC control and operating unit (N22) via the interior CAN. Under certain operating conditions also with "circuit 15 OFF", switching on the blower is requested by the AAC control and operating module (N22) (e.g. engine residual heat utilization).

Convenience closing for recirculated air for models 203.0 and 203.2

The convenience closing function is activated by pressing the air recirculation button (RECIRCULATING AIR SWITCH ) for longer than 1.5 seconds.

The overhead control panel control unit (N70) stores the instantaneous position of the tilting/sliding roof and, if it is open, then slides it shut automatically.

Once the convenience closing function has finished, the sliding/tilting roof is moved back again into the stored position by pressing the air recirculation button again (RECIRCULATING AIR SWITCH ) for longer than 1.5 seconds.
