Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI), function - GF82.70-P-0004PM

Function requirements 

IMPORTANT With the Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI) system, all calls are made with the portable CTEL (A34/6) via the hands-free system.

With the UPCI system it is possible to operate different portable CTELs (A34/6) such as Nokia, Siemens and Motorola in the vehicle. Only the respective UPCI portable CTEL holder (Universal Portable CTEL Interface) (A34/15) has to be replaced to do this.

The UPCI system consists of the following components:

IMPORTANT The portable CTEL (A34/6) is connected to the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) of the vehicle via the UPCI portable CTEL holder (Universal Portable CTEL Interface) (A34/15).

The UPCI system supports the following functions:

The telephone calls can be accepted or terminated by doing the following:

Voice is input via the hands-free system microphone group (A67b1) and output via the speaker system. The portable CTEL (A34/6) must be in the UPCI portable CTEL holder (Universal Portable CTEL Interface) (A34/15) to do this.

This displays a series of messages in the screens of the following components:

In order to ensure accurate voice input of the user via the hands-free system microphone group (A67b1), the volume of the activated audio device is first reduced for an incoming call and muted when the call is accepted.

The volume of the hands-free system can be individually adjusted by the user using the portable CTEL (A34/6) or via the multifunction steering wheel (MFL) using the + and - button, setting specific functions and volume control (S111s1).

The UPCI system can also be operated using the following buttons on the multifunction steering wheel (MFL):
