	Remove/install
	Risk of injury  caused by backrest suddenly folding forward if release lever is accidentally operated during inspection and repair work	When working on the seat, be careful not to accidentally release the backrest mechanism allowing the seat to fold forward. Keep body parts clear of the backrest travel area.	AS91.00-Z-0005-01V
	Risk of injury  caused by performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units.	Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100°C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply.
1	Completely open Vario roof
2	Raise up the left or right front seat (1) and move it forward
3	Fold seat backrest (2) forward.
4.1	Disconnect electrical connector (15) for belt tension sensor (B48/3)	Front passenger seat and vehicles as of 1.06.06 with code (494) USA version
5	Open up the retaining loop (3) on the backrest (2). Remove the screw (4) and guide the belt end fitting (5) out from behind the seat trim (6).		*BA91.40-P-1001-01A
6	Unscrew bolt (7) on left and right rear at the seat rails	Installation:  Replace screws (7) and align seat rails before screwing in place.

7	Position front seat (1) to rear
8	Unscrew bolt (7) on left and right front at the seat rails	Installation:  Replace screws (7) and align seat rails before screwing in place.

9	Tilt front seat (1) back until the electrical connectors (8) are accessible
10	Disconnect electrical connectors (8).	The actual number of connectors (8) will depend on the amount of equipment installed.
11.1	Disconnect electrical connector (9) from the driver-side front seat adjustment control unit with memory (N32/1) or passenger-side front seat adjustment control unit with memory (N32/2)	Only for vehicles with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirrors) or with code (242) Electrically adjustable front passenger seat with memory.
12	Lift front seat (1) and remove	Aid of helper required.
13	Install in the reverse order
