| Unscrew cap on expansion reservoir (1) for brake fluid | |
| Mount test connection (02) on expansion reservoir (1) | |
| Mount connector hose of vacuum tester (01 - 201589132100) on test connection (02) | |
| Checking | |
| Produce vacuum; to do this, operate pump lever (01a) 3 to 5 times | |
| Check master cylinder | If it is not possible to build up a vacuum, the master cylinder is OK. If it is possible to build up a vacuum, the pedal bracket (3), master cylinder, overcenter spring (6), bolt (5), circlip (7), washers (8) and bushings (9) must be replaced: Remove master cylinder. |

| Pull connector hose off vacuum tester (01) at test connection (02) | |
| Detach test connection (02) from expansion reservoir (1) | |
| Screw cap onto expansion reservoir (1) |
