	Remove/install
	Instructions for performing repair, body work and welding on vehicles with airbags and ETR units
1	Switch off the ignition and remove the transmitter key from the EIS control unit
2	Open engine hood and move to upright position		AR88.40-P-1000V
3	Unscrew the hood height stops (1)	Installation: Adjust height stops (1), see: ↓
		Adjust engine hood	AR88.40-P-3020V
4	Unscrew screws (arrows).
5.1	Unscrew bolts (2)	When removing the driver-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/1).

6.1	Unscrew bolts (3)	When removing the passenger-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/2).

7	Move the radiator trim panel (4) and the bumper (5) as far forward as necessary to gain access to the driver-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/1) or passenger-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/2)
8	Pull the driver-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/1) or the passenger-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/2) out of front end assembly until the electrical connector (6) is accessible	Installation: The arrow on the driver-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/1) must point toward the front and the arrow on the passenger-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/2) must point toward the rear.
9	Disconnect the electrical connector (6) and remove the driver-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/1) or the passenger-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/2)
10	Install in the reverse order
