Time is displayed analog via an hours and minute pointer in the electronic clock (A1p6). The minute pointer is moved in steps of 1 minute. The hours pointer is coupled to the minute pointer by a mechanical gear ratio.

The electronic clock (A1p6) is adjusted automatically.

The time information is placed by the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) as a message on the Controller Area Network bus class B (CAN-B) and is read in by the instrument cluster (A1).

If signals are received by the GPS antenna (A2/23), in this way there is an automatic changeover from summer time to winter time (and vice versa).
