| 1 | Remove paneling at front of Vario roof | AR68.30-P-4350V | |
| 2 | Remove supports (2) from Vario roof front section (3) | ||
| 3 | Open stowage compartment (17) | ||
| 4 | Break cover (18) out of rear wall (19) of stowage compartment (17) with suitable screwdriver. | ||
| 5 | Turn emergency opening valve (20) approx. 2 turns | ||
| 6 | Lock front lock (1) on locking bolt (4) | ||
| 7 | Unclip left control cable (5) and right control cable (6) from outer locking sections (13). | ||
| 8 | Unscrew bolts (7, 15) and remove front lock (1) from Vario roof front section (3) and allow to hang on electrical and hydraulic lines. | ||
| 9 | Unclip Vario roof "locked" limit switch (right rotary tumbler) (S69/3) from right outer lock section (13) | ||
| 10 | Remove bolts (8, 9) and remove hydraulic cylinder (10) from center lock section (14) | ||
| 11 | Remove electric and hydraulic lines from front lock (1) and remove front lock (1) | ||

| 12 | Clean guide (arrow) on left and right mount (16) with rag and then lubricate | Lubricant | *BR00.45-Z-1004-06A |

| 14 | Position hydraulic cylinder (10) in center lock section (14) and install bolt (8) with associated retaining ring | ||
| 15 | Position mount on piston rod for hydraulic cylinders (10) in center lock section (14) and install with associated retaining ring | ||
| 16 | Clip Vario roof "locked" limit switch (right rotary tumbler) (S69/3) to right outer lock section (13) | ||
| 17 | Install electric and hydraulic lines on front lock (1) | ||
| 18 | Screw in bolts (15) | ||
| 19 | Tighten bolts (7) | *BA77.33-P-1001-01A | |
| 20 | Install left control cable (5) and right control cable (6) on outer locking sections (13). | ||
| 21 | Unlock front lock (1) with locking bolt (4) | ||

| 23 | Remove support for securing the assembly position of the Vario roof and lay Vario roof front section (3) down on cross member above windshield. | ||

| 29 | Unlock front lock (1) with Vario roof actuation switch | ||
