Remove/install complete rear shelf of Vario roof - AR77.30-P-6340VA

REMOVING Remove    
1 Switch on ignition, open Vario roof with Vario roof actuation switch. Then switch off ignition IMPORTANT Stop Vario roof motion before trunk lid starts closing and the rear shelf (1) main flap (10) is positioned vertically. Approx. 15 s after removing the transmitter key, the pressure in the Vario roof hydraulic system is relieved completely and the rear shelf (1) can be moved manually for other activities.  
2 Remove inner paneling from rollover bars (2)   AR68.30-P-1380V
3 Fold main flap (10) of rear shelf (1) downward manually    
4 Unscrew bolts (3) and remove both mounts (4) from Vario roof crossmember (5) IMPORTANT The jacketing of the rollover bar (2) should be pushed upward by hand until the bolts (3) can be reached with the tool.  
5 Unscrew bolts (6) on left and right side of vehicle    
6 Position main flap (10) of rear shelf (1) vertically by hand    
7 Remove retaining clip (7) from left and right pull/push actuation (8)    
8 Unclip right pull/push actuation (8) from left and right side flap (11)    
9 Unscrew bolts (8) from left and right side of vehicle    
10 Remove rear shelf (1) upward from vehicle NOTES Remove rear shelf (1) carefully. Danger of damaging paint on Vario roof front section (12).  
INSTALLING Install     
11 Position rear shelf (1) in vertical position on installation location NOTES Position rear shelf (1) carefully. Danger of damaging paint on Vario roof front section (12).  
12 Apply bolt securing agent to bolt thread (9) and tighten bolts (9) on left and right side of vehicle TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA77.30-P-1014-01B 
    Loctite 262 *BR00.45-Z-1059-02A 
13 Position main flap (10) of rear shelf (1) horizontally by hand.    
14 Apply bolt securing agent to bolt thread (6) and tighten bolts (6) on left and right side of vehicle TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA77.30-P-1014-01B 
    Loctite 262 *BR00.45-Z-1059-02A 
15 Install right pull/push actuation (8) on left and right side flap (11)    
16 Install retaining clip (7) on right pull/push actuation (8) Vehicles as of vehicle identification number 032032  
REFER TO COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS Retaining clips for right pull/push actuation on side flaps changed IMPORTANT On vehicles up to vehicle identification number 032031: Replace retaining clip (7), unless a new version of retaining clip (7) is already installed. BT77.30-P-6340-01V 
17 Position both mounts on Vario roof crossmember (5) and tighten bolts (3)    
18 Check tension of main flap (10) in relation to trunk lid, correct if necessary IMPORTANT See:↓  
    Adjust Vario roof rear shelf AR77.30-P-6341V 
19 Install inner paneling on rollover bars (2)   AR68.30-P-1380V
