| 3 | Remove crossmember cover from Vario roof (1) | AR77.30-P-3976V | |
| 4 | Close Vario roof (1) | ||
| 5 | Remove tie strap (arrow B) | ||
| 6 | Disconnect electrical connectors (4) from soft top actuation control module (N52) | ||
| 7 | Disconnect electrical connector (5) | ||
| 8 | Press Vario roof (1) down on transitions (arrows A) between Vario roof front section (23) and C-pillar upper sections (6). | ||
| 9 | Completely remove trunk lid seal | - | |
| 10 | Remove left and right side paneling in trunk | AR68.30-P-4800V | |
| 11 | Remove upper trunk center paneling | AR68.30-P-4810VA | |
| 12 | Remove left and right trunk lid partition bracket | AR68.50-P-3100V | |
| 13 | Remove left and right foam rubber (7) in trunk | ||
| 14 | Expose electrical line (8) for Vario roof "up/down" limit switch to electrical connector (9) and disconnect electrical connector (9) | ||
| 15 | Expose rear window wiring harness (10) to rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) in trunk and disconnect electrical connector (11). | ||
| 16 | Remove ground line (14) from ground (right wheelhouse in luggage compartment) (W7) | ||
| 17 | Expose electrical line (25) in trunk and ground line (14) | ||
| 18 | Disconnect electrical connector (15). | ||
| 19 | Disconnect electrical connector (16) from tubular frame open limit switch (S119) | ||
| 20 | Expose hydraulic lines (12) in trunk to both tubular frame actuation hydraulic cylinders (13). | ||
| 21 | Unclip tubular frame actuation hydraulic cylinders (13) on upper and lower mount and guide toward front into passenger compartment through trunk and lay down on rear shelf. | ||
| 22 | Unscrew bolts (19) | *BA47.10-P-1009-01B | |
| 23 | Mark installation position of both main bearings (17) | AR77.50-P-3000-05V | |
| 24 | Mark number, thickness and installation location of spacers (18) on left and right center pillar (2) | ||
| 25 | Unscrew bolts (20, 21) from left and right main bearing (17) | ||

| 26 | Install roof hoist (22) on Vario roof (1) | ||

| 27 | Lift Vario roof (1) and remove from vehicle | ||
