The SDAR control unit (N87/5) decodes the S-band satellite signals received by the SDAR antenna (A2/82) and then forwards them via the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) to the radio (A2) or, in vehicles with code (530) COMAND APS USA (with navigation system), to the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3). The function of the satellite radio can be called up via the radio (A2) or, for vehicles with code (530) COMAND APS USA (with navigation system), using the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3).

IMPORTANT The "Satellite radio" function is planned as factory-installed special equipment in the vehicle. Thus, not only the complete wiring is installed in the vehicle, but also the SDAR antenna (A2/82) and the SDAR control unit (N87/5).
