	Remove/install
	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
	Risk of injury from grazing or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts	Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts. Deburr repair panels.	AS00.00-Z-0017-01A
1	Unclip connectors for O2 sensors (G3/3x1, G3/4x1) from rear retaining springs at charge air coolers (1) and disconnect
2	Raise vehicle with lifting platform	Position arms on lift platform in such a way that bolts (2) of the rear diagonal struts (3) are accessible.
3	Remove rear section of lower engine compartment paneling		AR61.20-P-1105R
4	Unclip connectors for O2 sensors (G3/5x1, G3/6x1) from retaining springs and disconnect
5	Unclip electrical feed lines for O2 sensor (G3/5x1, G3/6x1) from clamping brackets
6	Dismount the catalytic converters (4) from the turbochargers by loosening the bolts (5) and taking off the hose clamps (6)	Installation:  Use emery cloth to remove combustion and corrosion residues at connection points. Replace hose clamp (6) and bolts (5).

7	Dismount catalytic converters (4) from the catalytic converter brackets at the automatic transmission by unscrewing the bolts (7)		*BA49.10-P-1009-01L
8	Remove diagonal struts (3)	Installation:  The bolts (2, 8) on the diagonal struts (3) must only be when the vehicle is sitting horizontally on its wheels.

9	Support the exhaust system (9) with a transmission jack and a transmission platform		*WE58.40-Z-1030-11A

10	Remove cross strut (10)		*BA61.10-P-1007-01C
11	Unhook exhaust system (9) from exhaust rubber mounts (11)	To simplify removal: Apply liquid lubricant to retaining clip (12) and into hole of exhaust rubber mount (11).

12	Lower exhaust system (9) and remove it completely	Do not damage rear bumper while lowering exhaust system (9).
	Checking
13	Check all rear exhaust rubber mounts (11) for wear and damage; replace if required.
14	Install in the reverse order

15	Inspect installation position and unobstructed movement of all parts of the exhaust system (1)	The exhaust system (9) must be installed free of tension.
	Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the running engine	Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.
16	Carry out an engine test run and check exhaust system (9) for leaks
