Position trunk lid to assembly position - AR88.50-P-5000-01R

MODIFICATION NOTES

5.2.02 Work steps with corresponding pictures and quality note inserted Work steps 5 and 8  

IMPORTANT The trunk lid can be adjusted to the assembly position when the Vario roof is closed or open.

Adjust trunk lid manually to assembly position: 

  1. Open trunk lid.
  2. Unclip covers above lock and unlock screws (1) from side luggage compartment lining (2).

    IMPORTANT Previously move open Vario roof to load assist position.

  3. Turn lock and unlock screws (1) counterclockwise as far as the stop.

    IMPORTANT Tubular frame locks are unlocked.

  4. Raise tubular frame (3) at rear with aid of helper. Support trunk lid by hand

  5. Support trunk lid with a suitable object, e.g. an adjustable support brace.

    NOTES Do not put trunk lid under load in wing position to prevent damaging tubular frame and trunk lid hinge.

    Move trunk lid to assembly position with Vario roof switch: 

  6. Actuate Vario roof switch until the trunk lid is fully upright as shown in the diagram.
  7. Unlock trunk lid lock and move the trunk lid to the assembly position.

  8. Support trunk lid with a suitable object, e.g. an adjustable support brace.

    NOTES Do not put trunk lid under load in wing position to prevent damaging tubular frame and trunk lid hinge.

  9. Return trunk lid to normal position in the reverse sequence.
