MODEL 230 with CODE (853) MB standard cellular telephone

Switching D2B telephone on and off

The D2B telephone status in the D2B ring depends entirely on the status of circuit 15 (ignition ON/OFF). Information on the status of circuit 15 is transferred to the D2B telephone transmitter/receiver (A35/13)  by the head unit (COMAND/radio) via the D2B ring. The D2B telephone transmitter/receiver (A35/13)  is connected to circuit 15 and is switched on or off when a command is received from the head unit via the D2B ring or an external wake up line.

After switching off the ignition, the D2B telephone transmitter/receiver (A35/13)  and therefore the telephone remains switched on for a shut-off delay time of t=10 min and is then switched off. It is not possible to program any other shut-off delay time.

System characteristics

The D2B telephone transmitter/receiver (A35/13)  has 3 operating states.

Switch-on operation

  1. Current status: Ignition ON, D2B telephone transmitter/receiver (A35/13)  in inactive state (power-down mode), telephone system not ready for operation.

The D2B telephone transmitter/receiver (A35/13)  goes to the active mode when:

    • the telephone is switched on at the handset
    • a call is made or received with the telephone switched on
    • a wake-up signal from another D2B ring subscriber is recognized via the external wake-up line
  2. Current status: Ignition OFF, D2B telephone transmitter/receiver (A35/13)  in shut-off delay phase (iIdle mode) and D2B ring in inactive state (shut off)

The D2B telephone transmitter/receiver (A35/13)  goes to the active mode when:

    • a call is made or received with the telephone switched on
    • a wake-up signal from another D2B ring subscriber is recognized via the external wake-up line

Switch-off operation

The D2B telephone transmitter/receiver (A35/13)  is in the shut-off delay phase (idle mode) and the D2B ring is switched off.

The following cases are possible depending on the status of circuit 15:

IMPORTANT The shut-off delay time for the portable cellular telephone can be changed by an entry on the SIM card (0-60 min). For this purpose, the desired time can be entered in the same manner as a telephone number under the menu point "SHUT-OFF DELAY TIME".

When the D2B ring is deactivaetd, the D2B telephone transmitter/receiver (A35/13)  is switched off when the telephone is not switched on.
