MODEL 230 with CODE (349) E-Call emergency call system with CODE (498) Japan version
MODEL 230 up to 30.6.04 with CODE (349) E-Call emergency call system with CODE (494) USA version
Switch-on characteristics
The EMERGENCY CALL system is switched on by turning the key in the EIS [EZS] control unit (N73) to the "circuit 15R ON" position. The switch-on procedure is indicated by the indicator lamp flashing (5 s) in the EMERGENCY CALL system pushbutton switch (S93/3) . The system is ready for operation.
After switching on the emergency call system control unit (EMERGENCY CALL, A35/8) activates the telephone transmitter/receiver (A35) and waits for the readiness confirmation from the restraint systems control unit (N2/7) .
If the system is not authorized, an error message appears in the instrument cluster and the system is not operational.
Switch-off characteristics
- EMERGENCY CALL is switched off with a delay of 10 min, when circuit 15R is switched off, and an emergency call is not active and the telephone is not set to power-down.
When COMAND is switched on, then despite "circuit 15R: OFF" a telephone call can be made for a certain time.
- To allow control of the telephone system, the EMERGENCY CALL also remains active during the phone shutoff delay, but during this time it is not possible to make an emergency call .
- During an emergency call the EMERGENCY CALL system is only switched off when the emergency call is terminated.
- If authorization takes place just as circuit 15R is being switched off, then this is terminated and EMERGENCY CALL is switched off.
