Function 

The residual engine heat utilization system can be switched on by pressing the REST button ( ) on the automatic A/C pushbutton control module ("REST" appears on display).

When the engine is switched off the residual heat is used to heat the passenger compartment depending on the temperature set on the automatic A/C pushbutton control module and the ambient temperature.

Heating is possible for approx. 30 minutes after shutting off the engine. This function is possible only with the ignition switched off or with the ignition lock in position 1. If the voltage is too low the residual engine heat utilization feature is switched off automatically. The flaps are in the automatic mode and the air quantity is also adjusted automatically.

The residual engine heat utilization function is switched off:

• When the electronic key is turned to position 2 in the ignition switch.
• After approx. 30 minutes or after approx. 15 minutes when the REST feature is activated simultaneously on the rear air conditioning.
• When the battery voltage decreases.
