The gear indicator (A1p12) in the instrument cluster (A1) shows the driver the currently selected shift range "1", "2", "3", "4", "5", "6" or selector lever position "D", "R", "N" (neutral) or "P" (park).
Furthermore, the program, "S" (sport program) or "C" (comfort program), selected at the transmission mode switch (S16/5) is also displayed.
