Task

In case of purging the purge control valve opens the EVAP line between the activated charcoal canister and intake manifold. This allows suctioning off of fuel vapors out of the activated charcoal canister.

IMPORTANT

The purge control valve is always closed when the vehicle is at rest.

Function

The purge control valve () is actuated by the ME control unit (N3/10) by means of a PWM signal, according to the operating conditions of the engine.

The passage for the purge line from the activated charcoal canister to the intake manifold (a =>b) is opened at the same time.

The voltage supply takes place over circuit 87 M2".

IMPORTANT

PDM = Pulse Duration Modulation
