Pushing off 

  1. Unscrew self-locking nut from follower joint (8).
  2. SPECIAL TOOL Screw the thrust washer (043a) onto the support joint (8).
  3. Press off the follower joint (8) SPECIAL TOOL with the puller (043).

    NOTES Do not damage boot, otherwise the follower joint has to be replaced.

  4. SPECIAL TOOL Remove puller (043) SPECIAL TOOL and thrust piece (043a).

    Attaching 

  5. Clean tapered connection.

    NOTES There must be no grease or oil on the taper and thread in order to guarantee a faultless connection.

  6. Replace self-locking nut and tighten TORQUE SPECIFICATION .
