Checking oil pressure of power steering pump - AR46.30-P-0100NA

REMOVING Removing     
1 Remove air filter housing    
    Models 215.374, 220.074/174 AR09.10-P-1150SVK
2 Unplug connector (arrow) from suction restrictor valve    
3 Clamp off feed line (30f) from expansion reservoir of power steering pump using clamping device (08) SPECIAL TOOL Clamping device Figure
4 Detach feed line (30f) from power steering pump.    
5 Unscrew high-pressure expansion hose (30i) from power steering pump.    
6 Mount connection fitting (040a) to high pressure expansion hose (30i). SPECIAL TOOL Connection, part 11 Figure
7 Mount connecting hose (040b) to power steering pump SPECIAL TOOL Connecting hose, part 01 Figure
8 Connect tester (039) between connecting fitting (040a) and connecting hose (040b) SPECIAL TOOL Tester Figure
9 Mount feed line (30f) to power steering pump and remove clamp (08).    
10 Connect plug (arrow) to suction restrictor valve    
11 Check the steering gear oil level and correct if necessary    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Check power steering oil level and correct   AP46.00-P-4611N
DANGER Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury from bruises and burns if you hold your hand into engine when it is started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it moving off. Wear closed and close-fitting work clothes. Do not grasp hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
12 Start engine    
13 Increase engine speed to approx. 1000 rpm    
INSPECT Checking     
14 Close throttle cock (039a) and check maximum operating pressure. IMPORTANT Perform the test quickly to prevent the oil temperature from rising too high. *BE46.30-P-1001-01B 
15 Turn off engine    
16 Clamp off feed line (30f) with clamp (08) and detach from power steering pump. SPECIAL TOOL Clamping device Figure
17 Unplug connector (arrow) from suction restrictor valve    
18 Disconnect tester (039)    
19 Detach connecting fitting (040a) and connecting hose (040b).    
INSTALLING Install     
20 Replace seal rings in high-pressure expansion hose (30i).    
21 Screw high-pressure expansion hose (30i) onto power steering pump TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.30-P-1003-01C 
22 Mount feed line (30f) to power steering pump and remove clamp (08).    
23 Connect plug (arrow) to suction restrictor valve    
24 Fill power steering pump and bleed   AR46.30-P-0010N 
25 Inspect power-steering pump for leaks INSPECT Visual inspection  
26 Install air filter housing
