9.2.06 Banjo bolt, high pressure expansion hose (Active Body Control) to power steering pump models 215.374/375/378/379 *BA46.30-P-1012-01C

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of lifting platform and position four support plates at lifting platform support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin or eyes from hydraulic fluid spraying out under pressure. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing hydraulic fluid. Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. AS00.00-Z-0013-01A
1.1 Deactivate easy entry function for driver's seat and steering wheel With driver seat, steering column and electrically adjustable outside mirror with memory code 275
NOTES When easy entry/exit for driver's seat and steering wheel is activated, the memory position is activated when the ignition is switched on or the driver door is opened and closed, therefore the top frame can be damaged where a securing device is fitted.
IMPORTANT Deactivation is performed by the instrument cluster. Select Individual Adjustment in main menu and proceed according to menu guidance.
 
2.1 Drive out electrically adjustable steering column all the way With driver seat, steering column and electrically adjustable outside mirror with memory code 275  
2.2 Open lock of steering column and pull out steering column fully, close lock Not with driver seat, steering column and electrically adjustable outside mirror with memory code 275  
3 Rotate steering wheel into center position IMPORTANT Place front wheels in straight-ahead position.  
4 Lock steering wheel NOTES The steering wheel must not be turned when steering coupling is detached, otherwise clock spring contact will be destroyed.

5.1 Extract oil from reservoirs of the tandem pump (30) Models 215, 220, 230

6.1 Unscrew oil dipstick guide tube from bracket at exhaust gas recirculation valve Models 211, 220, 230  
7.1 Pull oil dipstick guide pipe out slightly Models 211, 220, 230

9 Unscrew bolt for front engine mount on front axle carrier (11a) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Models 211, 215, 220 *BA22.10-P-1001-01L

10.1 Bolt bracket together with compressor Engines 113.990 /991 /992 /995

12.1 Slacken suspension strut at spring control arm Model 211.076 / 276
IMPORTANT Residual pressure in suspension strut must be maximum 3.5 bar after emptying.
NOTES When working on the front axle, ensure that the surfaces of all aluminum parts do not suffer any scratches, cracks and notches. Otherwise the service life of the of the parts will be reduced.

14.1 Remove bracket for high pressure line on power steering pump Models 211, 220, 230
IMPORTANT Remove at oil pan bottom section (1).
 
15 Drain and collect engine oil NOTES Observe technical information since it could also come to leaks on the oil drain screw.

16 Disconnect electrical coupling at oil sensor    
17 Unscrew automatic transmission oil lines (49) from transmission housing NOTESInstallation:  Replace sealing rings, in order to avoid oil leakage through leakage.
IMPORTANT Seal the connections.
 
    SPECIAL TOOL Set of stop plugs *129589009100
18 Loosen clamping plates (8) and turn through 90°    
19 Remove oil lines for automatic transmission (49) IMPORTANT Unscrew retaining bracket (7), bracket (9) and place automatic transmission oil lines (49) to the side.
NOTES Do not bend or buckle automatic transmission oil lines (49), otherwise they could get leaky.
 
20.1 Attach high pressure expansion hose ABC system (59) Models 215, 220, 230
IMPORTANT Detach at tandem pump (30).
NOTESInstallation:  Replace gasket, in order to avoid leakage.
IMPORTANT Seal the connections.

21.1 Remove high pressure expansion hose ABC system (59) Models 215, 220, 230
IMPORTANT Unscrew union nut for high pressure expansion hose ABC system (41h). Unscrew retaining clips of high pressure expansion hose for ABC system (59) at oil pan.
 
22 Unscrew oil pan bottom section (1), remove IMPORTANT In the process slide the oil dipstick guide pipe slightly to one side.  
IMPORTANT Notes on application of sealant to oil pan   AH01.45-P-0001-01R
    NOTESInstallation:  Pay attention to the correct seating of the oil dipstick guide pipe gasket in the oil pan top section in order to prevent leaks.

23 Install in the reverse order    
INSPECT Checking     
24 Read out fault memory and erase IMPORTANT Stored faults which may be caused by removal, test work, removed lines or a simulation, must be processed and erased in the fault memories after completing the work.  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect up STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A

25.1 Fill and bleed ABC system Models 215, 220, 230 AR32.50-P-0021N
26 Pour oil into reservoirs of tandem pump (30), check oil level

27 Inspect ATF level of automatic transmission, top up ATF if necessary   AR27.00-P-0101A
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the running engine Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.
