Remove/install spare wheel recess - AR88.30-P-1000M

MODIFICATION NOTES

8.2.01 Procedure adapted to new repair product   *BR00.45-Z-1055-02A
REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove luggage compartment trim panels   AR68.30-P-4600M
2 Take spare wheel out of spare wheel recess (1)    
3 Remove screws (2) at shields (3)    
4 Unscrew nuts (10) and suspend pressure reservoir (11) at the side Model 215  
5 Remove screw (12) and take off cover (13)    
6 Take rubber plugs (8) and (9) out of spare wheel recess (1)    
7 Cut open spare wheel recess (1) vertically all round with multicutter (4) and cutting blade and lift spare wheel recess (1) up and out COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS
NOTES When doing this, leave an edge of approx. 35 mm
Avoid damaging paint

8 Cut through adhesive bead all round with multicutter (4) and cutting blade and remove remaining edge COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS *WH58.30-Z-1003-20A

9 Cut glue residues on body flange off with cutting blade SPECIAL TOOL
IMPORTANT Not more than 2 mm must remain. Remove loose glue (residues not completely cut off). Repair paint damages on body flange not covered by glue with primer pin

INSTALLING Install     
10 Mark holes A, B, C, D, E and F at spare wheel recess (1) IMPORTANT Model 215.375. Pay attention to distances a, b, c, d, e and f  
11 Drill holes A, B, C, D, E and F with ø 8mm in spare wheel recess (1) IMPORTANT Model 215.375. The holes must be positioned vertically on the surface to be drilled to enable the mounting clips (16) to be reliably attached  
12 Attach insulation mats (14) and (15) from below at the spare wheel (1) with the mounting clips (16) IMPORTANT Model 215.375  
13 Prepare glue cartridge   AR67.10-P-1000-07P
    Repair kit *BR00.45-Z-1049-02A 
14 Clean adhesive flange at new spare wheel recess (1) with cleaning cloth from cleaning set and dry with drying cloth included in cleaning set.   *BR00.45-Z-1049-02A 
15 Shake plastic primer thoroughly and apply in the glued area to the spare wheel recess. IMPORTANT Maximum width 20 mm
NOTES Allow primer to air-dry for at least 10 minutes.

16 Run nozzle along contact surface of spare wheel recess (1) and press out adhesive material evenly Height of adhesive bead approx. 13 mm.
NOTES Install spare wheel recess within 10 minutes before adhesive force of glue starts to decrease

17 Insert spare wheel (1), center and press on all round by light blows with plastic hammer (7) IMPORTANT When doing this, guide pin (5) must be inserted into the hole (6) in body floor. Curing time is approx. 1 hour calculated from the time the spare wheel recess is inserted.  
18 Insert rubber plugs (8) and (9) into spare wheel recess (1)    
19 Insert pressure reservoir (11) and screw on nuts (10) Model 215  
20 Fit on cover (13) and insert screw (12)    
21 Insert screws (2) at shields (3)    
22 Place spare wheel into spare wheel recess (1)    
23 Install trunk paneling   AR68.30-P-4600M
