| When engine hood is replaced seal seams before painting | |||
| 1 | Position engine hood upright (1) | AR88.40-P-1000M | |
| 2 | Position protective fender covers | ||
| 3 | Remove expansion rivets (3) and fold up and unhook sound deadening mat (2). | ||
| 4 | Unscrew bolts (4) on left and right | ||
| 5 | Unlock clamps (arrow) and remove cover (5) | ||
| 6 | Remove sun sensor (B32) | AR83.40-P-6720M | |
| 7 | Unplug washer nozzle heater connectors, 2-pin (X88/11). | ||
| 8 | Unclip wiring harness from engine hood (1) with clamps (10) | ||
| 9 | Mark installation position of engine hood (1) on engine hood hinges | ||
| 10 | Lift retainer (7) with screwdriver and unhook gas-operated strut (8) | ||
| 11 | Unscrew bolts (9) from engine hood | *BA88.40-P-1001-01D | |
| 12 | Remove engine hood with help of 2nd person and put down on suitable surface | Sizes of gaps at hoods, doors and covers |
