Cylinder head 

Aluminium die casting with three valves for each cylinder. Two inlet and one exhaust valve each are driven by a camshaft through low-friction rocker arms for each bank of cylinders. A hydraulic valve clearance compensation is fitted as before.

Two spark plugs are inserted at the exhaust side of each combustion chamber.

The cylinder offset results in a cavity at the left-hand cylinder head between timing box and first combustion chamber; this cavity has no function (without coolant) and is sealed off with an end cover.
