- A video DVD (DVD-V) is located in the 6-disk DVD changer of the COMAND operating, display and controller unit
Video mode, general
The 6-disk DVD changer of the COMAND operating, display and controller unit supports the playback of video DVDs (DVD-V). The video image is shown on the display of the COMAND operating, display and controller unit after the "Video" base function was activated.
Operating instructions
Video mode is operated using the following components:
- Control buttons on the COMAND operating, display and controller unit
- Left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110) and right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111)
Function sequence for video mode
The picture signals are processed internally in the COMAND operating, display and controller unit. The audio signals in vehicles with code (EU9) Surround sound system (harman/kardon Logic 7) are routed by the COMAND operating, display and controller unit via MOST to the sound system amplifier, where they undergo final amplification.
The audio is then output by the following speakers via direct lines:
- Left front door speaker
- Right front door speaker
- Left rear door speaker
- Right rear door speaker
- Left rear speaker
- Right rear speaker
- Center cockpit speaker (centerfill)
- Subwoofer speaker
- Left cockpit tweeter
- Right cockpit tweeter
- Left rear door tweeter
- Right rear door tweeter
On vehicles without code (EU9) Surround sound system (harman/ kardon Logic 7), the audio signals are output by the COMAND operating, display and controller unit via direct lines by the following speakers:
- Left front door speaker
- Right front door speaker
- Left rear door speaker
- Right rear door speaker
- Left rear speaker
- Right rear speaker
- Center cockpit speaker (centerfill)
- Left cockpit tweeter
- Right cockpit tweeter
Video mode is only available when the vehicle is stationary (v < 3 km/h). When the vehicle is moving on, audio playback remains active and - for safety reasons - a warning is shown on the display on the COMAND operating, display and controller unit.
