Location 

For model 463.247/248/254/270/303/340/341 the Universal Portable CTEL Interface control unit is installed under the front passenger seat below the stowage tray. For model 463.249/271 the Universal Portable CTEL Interface control unit is installed on a bracket below the front passenger seat.

Tasks 

The Universal Portable CTEL Interface control unit was developed to adapt mobile phones from different manufacturers in vehicles equipped with a Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) ring. It sets up the connection (interface) of the mobile phone with the vehicle communication system. The mobile phone is inserted into the telephone handset (A34), which is connected by means of a wiring harness to the Universal Portable CTEL Interface control unit. The Universal Portable CTEL Interface control unit forms the interface to the MOST ring.
