Brake light switch, component description - GF42.10-P-2010G

Location 

The brake light switch is located on the brake pedal.

Tasks 

The brake light switch detects the operation of the brake pedal. This signal is read in by the ESP control unit (N30/4) (without code (ZS6) Special protection version FB6 and without code (ZS7) Special protection version FB7) or from the ABS control unit (N47-7) (with code (ZS6) Special protection version FB6 or with code (ZS7) Special protection version FB7).

The detected operation of the brake pedal is redundantly sent over a direct line to the rear signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) (N10/2).
