Automatic load-sensitive brake pressure regulator, location/task/design/function - GF42.10-P-3102GG

MODEL 460, 461.217 /219 /223 /227 /229 /238 /239 /249 /266 /267 /302 /321 /322 /323 /326 /327 /328 /329 /331 /332 /335 /336 /337 /338 /341 /342 /345 /365 /366 /367 /368 /401 /402 /403 /404 /405 /450 /451 /452 /454 /455 /456 /458 /459, 463 / / (except, 463.308 /330 /331)

Task

Automatic control of the braking force in the wheel brake cylinders depending on the loading condition of the vehicle.

IMPORTANT Special maintenance is not required, refer to Repair Instructions for adjustment. On models 463.308/330/331 the brake pressure regulator is dispensed with, the function is included in the ABS/EBV control module.

Function

A brake pressure regulator with variable switchover pressure is used to control the braking force at the rear axle. The pressures upstream and downstream of the regulator are the same up to a set hydraulic pressure (switchover pressure).

With a further pressure increase upstream of the regulator, the regulator only allows a reduced pressure through to the wheel brake cylinders of the rear axle.

The brake pressure regulator and transfer sensor are attached to the frame. The brake pressure regulator with the transfer lever and transfer sensor is connected via a linkage to the rear axle via the regulator spring.

With an increase in rear axle load, the rear springs deflect and increase the preload of the control spring via the linkage and the transfer lever and consequently the switchover point and the braking force of the rear axle.
