Pressing tapered roller bearing off and on rear axle shaft - AR35.30-P-7351-01B

Pressing off tapered roller bearing 

  1. Slide assembly plate MPECIAL TOOL between bearing cap and rear axle shaft.

  2. Place rear axle shaft with assembly plate MPECIAL TOOL into the press.
  3. Press bearing cap with radial sealing ring and tapered roller bearing off the rear axle shaft.

  4. Fit circlip on axle shaft.

    NOTES Replace retaining ring, the flat side must point towards the slotted nut.

    The circlip is fitted in order to ensure that, when pressing-on, pressure is applied to the bearing inner race only.

    The anti-twist lock on the circlip must be aligned with the milled section of the axle shaft, otherwise the axle shaft will be damaged.

  5. Guide rear axle shaft through hole in assembly plate MPECIAL TOOL .
  6. Place rear axle shaft together with assembly plate MPECIAL TOOL into the press.
  7. Press tapered roller bearing onto rear axle shaft as far as the stop.

NOTES The bearing outer race must be turned during the pressing-on procedure in order to prevent damage to the bearing.
