ME-SFI transmission shift delay, function - GF07.61-P-4023G
ENGINE 273 in MODEL 463.202/222/236/237 up to 31.5.12 as of model year 2009/YoM 08
Function requirements for transmission shift delay for the ME-SFI gasoline injection and ignition system (engine electronics) (ME), general points
- Circuit 87M ON (engine control ON)
- Engine running
- Coolant temperature at start T < 35°C
- Vehicle speed v < 40 km/h
ME-SFI transmission shift delay, general points
Transmission shift delay brings the firewall catalytic converter more quickly up to operating temperature after engine start. The ME-SFI [ME] control unit controls the transmission shift delay according to the following sensor and signal:
- Coolant temperature sensor
- ESP control unit, vehicle speed via the drive train CAN
ME-SFI transmission shift delay, function sequence
Transmission shift delay is active for a maximum of t = 60 s and is entirely electronic.
The ME-SFI [ME] control unit asks the electric controller unit (VGS) via the drive train CAN, to adjust the shift characteristics.
Partial load gear shifts (1-2-1, 2-3-2) thus take place at higher engine speeds or at higher vehicle speeds.
