	Remove, Install
	Risk of explosion  from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries	No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking. Wear protective gloves, acid-resistant clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.	AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

2	Connect quiescent current retention device	Models 461, 463.	AR54.10-P-1030-07I

3	Disconnect ground cable of battery	All models except model 463.248 with code 979.	AR54.10-P-0003G

4	Remove floor covering at right front
5	Unscrew nuts (1)	If necessary lift panel in right front passenger footwell (2).
6	Remove ABS control module (N47-7) using assembly plate (3)	Slightly lift air duct to right rear compartment (4).
7	Unlock and unplug connectors (5)
8	Remove connector (6)
9	Unscrew nuts (7).
10	Remove ABS control module (N47-7) from assembly plate (3)
11	Install in the reverse order
12	Deactivate the service mode in the TELE AID emergency call system	Model 463.244 /245 /247 /248 /250 /254 /309 /322 /323 /332 /333 with code ET2: TELE AID car phone emergency call system.	AR82.95-P-0005-03GR
13	Read diagnostic trouble code memory and erase	STAR DIAGNOSIS Stored faults which can be due to disconnected cables or a simulation during assembly or test work, must be worked on in the fault memories at the end of the work and erased.
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
