Location on model 211 

The CDI control unit is installed in the control unit and relay box in the engine compartment at the rear left.

Location on model 220 

The CDI control unit is installed in the control unit and relay box in the engine compartment at the rear right.

Task 

The CDI control unit controls the following systems according to its input signals:

• Fuel injection
• Charge pressure control
• Exhaust gas recirculation
• Electronic accelerator/cruise control/idle speed control
• Drive authorization system stage/immobilizer (DAS 3)
• Diagnosis, DTC memory
• Diesel particulate filter (optional for engine 648)
