  IMPORTANT Static noise from all speakers in all audio sources and COMAND subsequently shuts off and on without obvious cause. IMPORTANT

IMPORTANT Affect are those AGWs up to following serial numbers:
AGW base:
USA/Export A 211 827 43 42 6032 3 1022496 AGW sound:
USA/Export A 211 827 46 42 6035 3 1072438
IMPORTANT If the serial number is less than the ones cited above: ↓
2 Extend fiber optical cable between AGW and navigation processor. To do this:
↓
 
    3 Put together the retrofit wiring harness.
IMPORTANT Use retrofit wiring harness as per the parts ordering notes.
Line A 211 540 68 33 is already present in the vehicle.
 
    4 Detach fiber optical cable.
IMPORTANT Remove the number "16" fiber optical cable from the plug housing on the AGW and navigation processor.
 
    5 Install retrofit wiring harness.
IMPORTANT Install retrofit wiring harness underneath the AGW between the insulation and the frame to the front (see figure).
Make sure that the kink protection device is clipped into the plug housing.
 
    6 Tape disabled fiber optical cable to the other cables.
IMPORTANT To prevent rattling noises.
 
    7 Install retrofit wiring harness between AGW and navigation processor.
IMPORTANT When swinging the navigation processor back in, the fiber optical cable must be held facing forwards in the direction of the insulation so as to avoid it from being kinked and or from it being bent beyond the allowable bending radius.
 
    IMPORTANT To ensure that the MOST ring is a closed circuit again:

8 Start COMAND.
 
    9 Check the map display and the audio source in the "Navigation".
