Quiescent current consumption is in the range between 60 mA and 200 mA - AF54.10-P-6400-01T

Possible cause of fault 1:

IMPORTANT As of vehicle ident. no. 250000 (3/03):

After disconnection and disconnection of the battery, the ATA alarm signal horn (H3) consumes 20mA for some time. This must be taken into consideration when measuring the quiescent current.

Measures:

None

Possible cause of fault 2:

IMPORTANT With trailer hitch (code 550):

When the quiescent current consumption is measured with a multimeter, a relay for switching off circuit 30 on the trailer socket actuates due to the additional internal resistance in the trailer connection unit (AAG) due to the design. This measurement results in an additional quiescent current of approx. 100 mA.

Measures:

In order to obtain a correct measuring result, it is first necessary to remove fuses N10/2f17 and N10/2f18.

IMPORTANT If the quiescent current is then less than 40 mA, the vehicle is OK.

Possible cause of fault 3:

IMPORTANT With MB Audio 20 radio (code 523) up to vehicle ident. no. 165000 (10/02):

The "ON" button on the radio (A2) is illuminated when the vehicle is shutoff. This results in an additional quiescent current of approx. 100 mA.

Measures:

Flash audio gateway control module (N93/1) with software status 37/02 or higher.

Possible cause of fault 4:

Voice control module A35/11 causes quiescent current of approx. 140 mA.

Measures:

Replace voice control module A35/11.
