Install/remove battery disconnect switch - AR54.10-P-1060P

REMOVING Install     
IMPORTANT The battery disconnect switch (1) is installed in order to prevent the battery (G1) from discharging if the vehicle stands idle for a long period of time.    
1 Disconnect on-board ground line (2) from battery (G1) Model 209 AR54.10-P-0003Q 
2 Detach positive terminal cover on battery (G1), turn it by 180° and attach again    
3 Connect on-board ground line (2) to negative terminal of battery disconnect switch (1)    
4 Clip positive terminal (3) of battery disconnect switch (1) onto positive terminal of battery (G1) and fix in place if necessary    
5 Position battery disconnect switch (1) between suspension strut tower and battery (G1) IMPORTANT Position the battery disconnect switch (1) in such a way that it cannot cause noises while the vehicle is in motion.  
6 Stow wiring harness (4) of battery disconnect switch (1) to left of battery (G1) and guide sensor with display unit (5) out of engine compartment at bottom corner of windshield IMPORTANT The outboard part of the wiring harness (4) together with the sensor with display unit (5) must be approx. 15 cm.  
7 Connect ground line (6) of battery disconnect switch (1) to negative terminal of battery (G1) and make vehicle ready for operation IMPORTANT Basic programming does not need to be performed.

  Carrying out functional check     
8 Check operation of battery disconnect switch (1) IMPORTANTActivating the on-board electrical system:  Guide the solenoid past the sensor with display unit (5). The battery disconnect switch (1) is closed and the on-board power supply voltage is applied. The LED on the sensor with display unit (5) flashes.
If the alternator voltage is applied (engine running), the LED on the sensor with display unit (5) remains lit.
Deactivating the on-board electrical system:  Hold the solenoid at the sensor with display unit (5) for approx. 5 s. The battery disconnect switch (1) is opened and no on-board power supply voltage is applied. The LED on the sensor with display unit (5) does not light up. The battery disconnect switch (1) is opened automatically if it has remained inactive for approx. 90 min.
 
REMOVING Removing     
9 Disconnect ground line (6) of battery disconnect switch (1) from battery (G1) Model 209 AR54.10-P-0003Q 
10 Disconnect positive terminal (3) of battery disconnect switch (1) from positive terminal of battery (G1)    
11 Detach positive terminal cover on battery (G1), turn it by 180° and attach again    
12 Expose sensor with display unit (5) and wiring harness (4) of battery disconnect switch (1)    
13 Expose battery disconnect switch (1) and disconnect on-board ground line (2) from negative terminal of battery disconnect switch (1)    
14 Connect on-board ground line (2) to battery (G1) Model 209 AR54.10-P-0003Q
