| The battery disconnect switch (1) is installed in order to prevent the battery (G1) from discharging if the vehicle stands idle for a long period of time. | |||

| 2 | Detach positive terminal cover on battery (G1), turn it by 180° and attach again | ||
| 3 | Connect on-board ground line (2) to negative terminal of battery disconnect switch (1) | ||
| 4 | Clip positive terminal (3) of battery disconnect switch (1) onto positive terminal of battery (G1) and fix in place if necessary | ||
| 5 | Position battery disconnect switch (1) between suspension strut tower and battery (G1) | ||
| 6 | Stow wiring harness (4) of battery disconnect switch (1) to left of battery (G1) and guide sensor with display unit (5) out of engine compartment at bottom corner of windshield | ||

| 8 | Check operation of battery disconnect switch (1) | If the alternator voltage is applied (engine running), the LED on the sensor with display unit (5) remains lit. Deactivating the on-board electrical system: Hold the solenoid at the sensor with display unit (5) for approx. 5 s. The battery disconnect switch (1) is opened and no on-board power supply voltage is applied. The LED on the sensor with display unit (5) does not light up. The battery disconnect switch (1) is opened automatically if it has remained inactive for approx. 90 min. |
